A T20I tri-series is all set to begin on August 29, 2025, where Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will lock horns in Sharjah. The final is scheduled to take place on September 7.
All three teams will also compete in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, starting on September 9. Hence, this series will serve as the perfect platform for them to prepare for that tournament.
Both the UAE and Afghanistan have named their best possible squads. For Afghanistan, star all-rounder Rashid Khan will lead the team. However, Pakistan has surprised many by not picking their two most senior players, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Salman Ali Agha will captain the side.
While announcing the squad for this series and the Asia Cup, coach Mike Hesson explained that both senior players have been advised to work on their game, particularly on improving their strike rate in T20Is.
