Ahead of the Asia Cup 2025 campaign, the Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the United Arab Emirates teams are set to lock horns in a T20I tri-series at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah, starting on Friday, August 29.
The tournament is set to have a double round-robin format with all teams playing each other twice in the league stage before the top two teams in the points table make it to the final, scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 7. All matches will be played from 8:30 PM IST.
Asia Cup 2025, scheduled to start on Tuesday, September 29, is set to be played in two different groups. While India, UAE, Pakistan, and Oman are part of Group A, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka are part of Group B.
India is scheduled to take on the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday, September 10. Later, they will lock horns with the arch-rivals Pakistan in their second fixture on Sunday, September 14. Their last league game will be against Oman on Friday, September 19.
Later, the top two teams from each group will make it to the Super Four stage, with the top two teams from that stage making it to the grand finale. Asia Cup 2025 will play an ideal role in preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled to be played earlier next year in India and Sri Lanka.
