Following the unveiling of the T20 World Cup 2026 ticket sales poster, which does not include Pakistan skipper Salman Ali Agha, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has publicly voiced its dissatisfaction to the International Cricket Council (ICC). The PCB has addressed the issue directly with the ICC due to the lack of Agha's image on the poster, emphasising the importance of participation in international competitions.
The promotional poster only featured the captains of India, South Africa, Australia, Sri Lanka, and England—Suryakumar Yadav, Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Dasun Shanaka, and Harry Brook, respectively—according to a trustworthy PCB source who disclosed that the matter had been brought up with the ICC.
However, Suryakumar Yadav from India, Aiden Markram from South Africa, Dasun Shanaka from Sri Lanka, Harry Brook from England, and Mitchell Marsh from Australia were among those included on the poster.
According to a PCB source, they encountered comparable problems during the Asia Cup, which the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) subsequently resolved. According to one of the PCB sources, they have brought up this matter with the ICC and anticipate favourable results.
"We faced the same issues when the Asia Cup was held a few months back, and that time the broadcasters had started a promotional campaign without our captain featuring in it," a reliable source in the PCB was quoted as saying by PTI.
The PCB thinks that a formal declaration to the ICC would fix this issue, same as the Asia Cup scenario was resolved after contacting the ACC. They are hopeful that they will be featured in future campaigns and advertising materials.
However, the PCB source confirmed that Pakistan isn't currently in the top five ICC T20I rankings. Over the past several years, Pakistan's success in the shortest format has drastically declined due to a number of problems, including frequent changes in players and captaincy.
