Rahul Dravid’s son Anvay to lead Karnataka in Vinoo Mankad Trophy

Former Indian talismanic batter Rahul Dravid’s younger son, Anvay, has been named as the Karnataka state team’s captain for the forthcoming Vinoo Mankad Trophy 2025-26, which is scheduled to be held from October 9 to 17 in Dehradun.

While Anvay will play a crucial role as a batter in the competition, the leg-spinner S Manikanth has been appointed as the vice-captain of the side. Notably, Anvay was also among the awardees alongside Mayank Agarwal and promising batter Smaran Ravichandran at the KSCA Annual Awards in Bengaluru on Sunday, October 5.

On the other hand, Dravid's elder son Samit recently represented Mysuru Warriors in the KSCA Maharaja T20 Trophy 2024, scoring 82 runs in seven matches. Notably, Mysuru went on to win the grand finale against Bengaluru Blasters in 2024 season.

Meanwhile, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) also announced the Ranji Trophy squad, with Karun Nair all set to make a return to the red-ball set-up after a couple of years away from the team, as he represented the Vidarbha state team.

He played a crucial role as a batter for Vidarbha, the defending champions, scoring 863 runs in 16 innings at an average of 53.93. Mayank Agarwal will lead the senior Ranji side, while the squad also has a few new faces like Kruthik Krishna, Shikhar Shetty, and Mohsin Khan.
