Former Indian spinner and analyst Ravi Ashwin has slammed the Pakistani cricket team, led by Salman Ali Agha, for complaining to the International Cricket Council (ICC), demanding Andy Pycroft be replaced from the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 campaign for violating the code of conduct.

Moving into the details, PCB was quick to lodge an official complaint with the ICC after the Indian players, led by Suryakumar Yadav, decided not to shake hands with the Pakistani players after the former’s seven-wicket dominant win on Sunday, September 14, in Dubai.

“Andy Pycroft actually saved everybody from seeing such a poor spectacle. India informed the match referee in advance — this is our decision, and we will follow it. That’s it. After all this drama, you lost the match. So what are you complaining about?” Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.

Furthermore, Ashwin also roasted the Pakistani players and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), asserting that the match referee is not a school teacher or a principal to bring Suryakumar Yadav and shake hands, adding that there is no fault of Pycroft in this situation.

“He is not a schoolteacher. He’s not a principal. He can’t go and bring Surya and say, ‘Come shake hands’. That’s not his job. What exactly is Pycroft’s fault here? If I were Andy Pycroft, you are apologising to me. What would I even be apologising for? ‘I’m sorry that Suryakumar Yadav didn’t shake your hand’? Really?” he concluded.

After India dominated the group stage with three consecutive wins against the UAE, Pakistan, and Oman, they topped the Group A standings. On the other hand, Pakistan secured two wins and a defeat against India to secure the second rank.

While India and Pakistan made it to the Super Four round, Oman and the UAE got eliminated from the campaign. India will lock horns with Pakistan in the Super Four stage on Sunday, September 21, in Dubai.
