Ravi Ashwin reveals two Indian batters who can help India win Lord’s Test

Former Indian cricketer and analyst Ravi Ashwin has stated that the England pace spearhead Jofra Archer, who made his Test comeback after a gap of four years, didn’t look prepared for a Test. Notably, Archer could scalp only three wickets so far in the ongoing Lord’s Test.

While Archer spiced things up with his first spell of the game with an exceptional delivery to pocket Yashasvi Jaiswal’s wicket, later, he could scalp only one more wicket of Washington Sundar in the first innings. However, Ashwin stated that England would need Archer to step up on Day 5.

"I am very sorry to say that Jofra Archer. He is not prepared for a Test match. He bowled a good first spell in the first innings, but England do need Jofra Archer to turn up on Day 5,” Ashwin told on his YouTube channel.

Moreover, Ashwin asserted that England is currently in the driver’s seat with India losing three of their top batters. However, he further added that KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant will play a crucial role on the Lord’s surface on Day 5.

"At 58/4, there are only two England bowlers that are bowling really well. They are Ben Stokes and, luckily, Brydon Carse has found the right length. Otherwise, this England bowling attack is looking absolutely pedestrian," he added.

"England are favorites to win this Test match, at this point in time. It is a big prediction. I think England are favorites to win this Test match, but the two people who have a chance to change this game are KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant,” he observed.

At stumps on Day 4, India were at 58/4 in 17.4 overs with KL Rahul batting on an unbeaten 33. India require 135 more runs to win the Test and take a 2-1 lead.
