Ace Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL) on August 27, 2025. This comes after Ashwin had retired from all international cricket in December 2024 during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series in 2024-25.
He played 106 Tests, taking 537 wickets, 156 wickets in 116 ODIs, and 72 wickets in 65 T20Is games for India from 2010 to 2024. He also made 3503 runs in Tests with six centuries.
Coming to the IPL, Ravichandran Ashwin made his debut for Chennai Super Kings in 2009. He continued to play for CSK till 2015, when the franchise was banned for two years due to a spot-fixing scandal.
He then played for Rising Pune Supergiants and then played for and captained Punjab Kings before moving to Rajasthan Royals and then coming back to CSK in 2025.
