During the team's IPL 2025 victory celebrations on Saturday, August 30, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally took action to assist the relatives of those killed in a stampede at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The families of the 11 persons who perished in the stampede on June 4 will each receive Rs 25 lakh, according to an announcement made by RCB.

Under their recently announced social effort, RCB Cares, the company announced on Saturday via its official X and Instagram accounts.

“Our hearts broke on June 4, 2025,” the team wrote in a fresh statement issued on Saturday morning. “We lost eleven members of the RCB family. They were part of us. Part of what makes our city, our community & our team unique. Their absence will echo in the memories of each one of us,” the statement further read.

According to the team, it has given the relatives of the terrible incident victims ₹25 lakh, not only as cash assistance but also "as a promise of compassion, unity, and ongoing care."

“No amount of support can ever fill the space they’ve left behind. But as a first step, and with the deepest respect, RCB has extended ₹25 lakh each to their families,” the team said in the statement.

The incident, which took place in Bengaluru during the RCB's title celebrations, is still regarded as one of the most tragic events in the city's sports history. Less than twenty-four hours after RCB defeated Punjab Kings in the Ahmedabad final to win their first IPL title, thousands of ecstatic fans congregated outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

A sizable crowd gathered in Bengaluru's streets and at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium to celebrate the Bengaluru-based team's first IPL win after an 18-year wait. A rush resulted from numerous individuals breaking down barriers as authorities were unable to keep the gathering under control. However, as a result of the uncontrolled fan push into the stadium gates, which left 11 people dead and over 50 injured, the festivities descended into anarchy.
