The Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (RCB-W), led by Smriti Mandhana, bagged the Women’s Premier League (WPL) title for the second time, thumping the Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W) by six wickets in the grand finale in Vadodara.

Moving into the details of the grand finale, Delhi Capitals batted first after losing the toss and posted a good total of 203/4 in 20 overs. Captain Jemimah Rodrigues (57) and Laura Wolvaardt (44) were impressive in the first innings, helping the team to post a good total.

In the chase, Smriti Mandhana (87) and Georgia Voll (79) played exceptional knocks as RCB Women sealed the deal in 19.4 overs with six wickets in hand. Chinelle Henry's two wickets went in vain for the Capitals.

After the victory, captain Smriti Mandhana, former RCB captain Virat Kohli, and RCB mentor and batting coach Dinesh Karthik were elated with the franchise’s exceptional performance as they lifted three consecutive titles across IPL and WPL.

“Very pleased. Again, I feel RCB fans are the best fans in the world, wherever we play, we get a lot of support. Even for now, they keep waiting. They know that again, I feel whatever we do is for them. And yeah, I mean, three titles in three years for the franchise,” Smriti Mandhana said after the win.

“Again, before going back, I have to thank all the RCB fans again turning up in huge numbers. This one's for you guys. And I said that, I said this in 2024, I'll say it again, that this time it's - Ee sala cup namdu 2! (This year cup is ours) (flashes the number 2 symbol with her left hand) So let's go,” she added.

"Champions again. Keeping the RCB flag flying high and something that each one of you can be proud of. To Smriti and the whole squad and the management team, a big congratulations for this tremendous victory. You guys deserve this undoubtedly. Enjoy the moment and embrace the love of our amazing fans,” Kohli wrote on his Instagram handle.

“That was an unreal. WPL FINALS RCB were just too good throughout the tournament Feel for DC , 4 finals on the trot , that's an amazing achievement in itself and they've found a long term leader in JEMI,” Dinesh Karthik tweeted.

“But more importantly this is a win for WOMENS cricket. The standards have gone through the roof . Power hitting Fielding Variations in bowling Every facet of the game has improved since the inception and that's been my biggest takeaway watching this season. Highest score ever breached by a team chasing in a Final across mens and womens (IPL n WPL) tells you everything you need to know and sums up this season beautifully More power to you girls Awesome season,” DK wrote in his tweet.
