The highly anticipated IPL 2024 auction is underway as the 10 sets of registered players have gone under the hammer so far. Amidst some high bids for the capped or uncapped stars; the Ex-GT bowler Yash Dayal also attracted the eyeballs as he got picked by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for a big amount of INR 5 crores.
Notably, Yash Dayal was the same bowler who got smashed for five consecutive sixes by Rinku Singh in the last when KKR required 29 runs off the last five balls against Gujarat Titans in an IPL 2023 match.
Just a few days ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, Gujarat Titans released Yash Dayal from their squad to fill that space with another pacer for the next edition of the Indian Premier League. However, RCB showed their trust in Yash Dayal and added him to their squad for the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024.
Yash Dayal's stint with Gujarat Titans ends after two average seasons
Speaking of Dayal’s IPL career so far, he made his debut for the IPL 2022 champions, Gujarat Titans in the debut season of the franchise in 2022. Since then, he played 14 matches for the Titans till IPL 2023; in these matches, the Allahabad pacer scalped 13 wickets with his best performance of 3/40. But apart from all these things, he is mostly known for the five consecutive sixes of last over Rinku Singh smashed against him.
RCB’s move to pick Yash Dayal for the next edition of the tournament has also attracted a lot of reactions on social media. The fans didn’t look satisfied with RCB’s decision to spend INR 5 crores for Dayal.
Apart from that, RCB also picked the star New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson for an amount of INR 2 crores, alongside a huge bid for Alzarri Joseph for a whopping amount of INR 11.50 crores.
