Rishabh Pant is a very dangerous player, really enjoy watching him bat: Ben Stokes

England captain Ben Stokes has heaped praise on Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant as the second Test match between India and England approaches Edgbaston. Stokes has described Pant as a "very dangerous player" and acknowledged that he "absolutely loves watching him play cricket."

Even though India lost the first Test match at Leeds, Pant was one of the most impressive players with two brilliant hundreds: 134 in the first innings and 118 in the second. England took a 1-0 lead in the series after achieving a record chase of 371 and winning by five wickets. Despite being an opposition player, home captain Ben Stokes is a huge fan of the daring wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who scored two scorching hundreds for England in the first Test match at Leeds.

Stokes at the pre-match press conference here in Edgbaston on Tuesday said, “Even though he’s in the opposition, I absolutely love watching Rishabh play cricket. I love the way he takes it on in all formats of the game. He’s come under the stick a few times in his career, but that type of talent… when you let that type of talent be free, that’s what can happen (like) in the last week.”

England leads the second Test by 1-0 after winning the previous match by 5 wickets. The English batters' incredible comeback overcame their early setbacks. Ben Duckett's incredible innings of 149 runs in 170 balls in the fourth innings was the difference. Ben Stokes maintained his faith in their ability to chase ahead of the impending match.

Edgbaston's large stage is prepared for the exciting match, which will take place on July 2. An exciting matchup is in store, with England keen to increase their domination and India hoping to make a comeback to even the series.

In the meantime, India will try to get back together following the Leeds collapse. The second Test might be a turning point in what is turning out to be a top-notch series, with selection changes anticipated, including the potential addition of two spinners and a shuffle in the lower middle order.
