Pakistan opening batter Sahibzada Farhan, who is currently leading the run-scoring charts in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, has stated that it wouldn’t be a big deal to face the England pace spearhead Jofra Archer when both sides take on each other.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the game against England in the Super8 round, Farhan clarified that it’s not a big deal to face bowlers who bowl at 145 kph+, adding that their batters are well planned to take on Archer.
“It's not a big deal to face Jofra Archer. We have already faced him in Pakistan. We have good bowlers, they also bowl at 145. So it's not a big deal. Yes, like you said, they will definitely have planned it, but I have also planned it. It’s not that only he will have plans. So, we will see. It will be a good match,” Farhan said in the pre-match press conference.
Furthermore, Farhan also talked about Usman Tariq, who hogged the spotlight for his sidearm, pause-and-deliver bowling action in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026 campaign. He went on to add that it’s good to see teams planning for the off-spinner.
“I think in T20 if you give 20-24 runs in 4 overs, it is a big deal. Sometimes he (Usman Tariq) gave under 20 also in 4 overs. So I think wickets doesn't matter to as much. We want that when the team is down, or is in a tough situation, then Usman Tariq can control the situation. He is doing it for the team. And it's good that the teams are planning for him, and is worried about his action. So I think it's good for Pakistan team and for him too,” he added.
England and Pakistan will clash against each other at the Pallekele Stadium in Pallekele on Tuesday, February 24.
