Indian keeper-batter Sanju Samson, who has been traded from the Rajasthan Royals to the Chennai Super Kings, was elated to sport the CSK jersey after joining the franchise ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction.
For the unversed, Samson joined the CSK set-up at his league fee of INR 18 Crore while CSK traded their veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and bowling all-rounder Sam Curran to the Royals for INR 14 crore and INR 2.4 crore respectively.
“I have been waiting for this day and I am very fortunate that I am going to wear the yellow jersey. As I said I am always in my dark colours. Like black, blue, brown but yellow I think, definitely a great feeling to wear that jersey. Never thought about how I will feel after wearing CSK. I felt very positive and I felt very happy. I felt very different. A different energy wearing that jersey. I felt like a champion,” Sanju Samson said in a video shared by CSK.

Notably, Samson has represented the Rajasthan Royals franchise for a total of 11 seasons, since 2013, amassing 4027 runs for the side and propelling them to the grand finale in the IPL 2022 season.
“We are only here for a short period of time. Gave MY everything to this franchise, enjoyed some great cricket, made some lifetime relations, treated everyone in the franchise as my family..And when its time..I AM moving On..Shall always be grateful for everything @rajasthanroyals,” Samson wrote on Instagram.

While the Chennai Super Kings have a purse remaining of INR 43.4 Crore ahead of the mini-auction, the Royals have a purse of INR 16.05 Crore.
