Shpageeza Cricket League 2025: Squads, Broadcast details and all you need to know

The Shpageeza Cricket League 2025 began on 19 July and will run until 1 August, with all matches taking place in Kabul. In the seventh season of the tournament, five teams — Boost Defenders, Amo Sharks, Speen Ghar Tigers, Mis Ainak Knights, and Band-E-Amir Dragons — are battling it out for the title.

Some of Afghanistan’s top cricketing stars are in action, including Rashid Khan, Hazratullah Zazai, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Sediqullah Atal, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Mohammad Nabi, Ibrahim Zadran, and Azmatullah Omarzai, each representing their respective franchises.

Amo Sharks, the defending champions, are eyeing another title after winning the 2024 edition. In the previous final, they defeated Band-E-Amir Dragons by seven wickets, successfully chasing a target of 179 runs with seven balls to spare. Zubaid Akbari was named Player of the Match for his stunning 14-ball 40-run cameo.

However, in a twist this year, Akbari will not be turning out for the Amo Sharks. Instead, he is now part of the Speen Ghar Tigers.
