After two heartbreaking losses in the 2005 and 2017 finals, India's long-held dream of winning the ICC Women's World Cup finally came to an end when they defeated South Africa by 52 runs in a decisive display at the finals. Shafali Sharma (87 and 2/36) and Deepti Sharma (58 and 5/39) both put on all-around performances that will live in the memories of millions of cricket fans and serve as an inspiration to future generations of players.
Since then, multiple stars and cricketers, as well as ex-cricketers of the game, have been pouring in appreciation for the Women in Blue for their clinical win in the finals and imprinting their name on the trophy. One among such names was ex-cricketer Syed Kirmani.
In his praise of the Indian women's cricket team's World Cup-winning performance, former player Syed Kirmani referred to Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues as the "darlings of the team" and stated that the team's recovery from three consecutive defeats demonstrated their tenacity. "Individual players like Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues are the darlings of the Indian team, and, along with others, delivered great performances in crunch situations," Kirmani told ANI.

Expressing his views on the team's title, the former cricketer said, "Brilliant performance by the women's cricket team; my heartiest congratulations to them! Losing three consecutive games and then making a comeback was a reckless effort by the entire squad. My heartfelt congratulations to all of you. We were praying for your success, and you made the nation proud."
In addition to praising the team, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced an award of ₹1 crore for Kranti Goud, the only player from MP. India's powerful lineups and steady strategic plays helped them reach 298/7 in their innings before bowling South Africa out for 246 to win the trophy for the first time.
