Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has been fined 30 per cent of his match fee by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as he has been found guilty of breaching the code of conduct for his comments after the India vs Pakistan group stage clash on Sunday, September 14, in Dubai.

While Suryakumar pleaded not guilty to his remarks, the ICC match referee, Richie Richardson, rejected it, and he was eventually fined 30% of his match fee. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was quick to appeal the decision.

"Perfect occasion, taking the time out - we stand by the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. We express our solidarity. Want to dedicate the win to all our armed forces who showed a lot of bravery,” Suryakumar Yadav said after India's win over Pakistan in the group stage.

On the other hand, Pakistani players Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan were also investigated for a breach of the code of conduct for their controversial gestures during the India vs Pakistan Super Four clash on Sunday, September 21, in Dubai.

At the hearing, the Pakistani duo was found guilty of a Level 1 offence under the Player Code of Conduct. While Haris Rauf was fined 30% of his match fee, Farhan was reprimanded with a warning.

The Pakistani opening batter, Farhan, was seen celebrating with his bat like a gun after reaching his half-century against India in the Super Four clash, which didn’t go down well with the Indian cricketing fraternity.

On the other hand, Haris Rauf could be seen making a fighter-jet gesture when the Indian crowd tried to mock him with ‘Kohli Kohli’ chants, reminding him of his performance against the Indian talismanic batter at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the T20 World Cup in 2022.
