Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian T20I captain, has decided to shut down the Pakistani journalist, who asked about the India vs Pakistan rivalry, after India’s six-wicket win over the opposition in the Super Four clash, on Sunday, September 21.

While speaking at the post-match press conference, Suryakumar asserted that the India-Pakistan rivalry is no longer as intense due to the current Pakistani side's performance. He also observed that India played better cricket than the opposition in the middle overs to change the game’s complexion.

"To this question, I want to say one thing. I feel you all should stop asking questions about this India vs Pakistan rivalry," Suryakumar said in the post-match press conference.

"According to me, if two teams are playing 15-20 matches and the scoreline is 7-7, or 8-7, then you can call it good cricket, you call it rivalry. If it’s 13-0, 10-1, I am not sure what the stat is. But, this is not a rivalry anymore. I feel we played better cricket than them between 7-15, and we bowled better also," he added.

Shifting our focus to the details of the game, Pakistan, after losing the toss, posted a good-looking total of 171/5 in 20 overs, courtesy of Sahibzada Farhan's 58-run knock. With the ball, Shivam Dube picked up two important wickets.

In reply, Indian openers Abhishek Sharma (74) and Shubman Gill (47) stitched a 105-run opening stand to turn the game on its head. Ultimately, Tilak Varma (30*) finished off the proceedings in 18.5 overs with six wickets in hand.

Speaking about the head-to-head record, India and Pakistan have met 15 times in T20 internationals. Out of those, India has come out on top in 12 games, dominating the head-to-head quite comfortably, while Pakistan has managed to win only three games.
