'T20 or surya ka apna alag connection hai' - Fans react as Suryakumar Yadav smashes blistering century in 3rd T20I against South Africa

Suryakumar Yadav's century helped India to post a big total of 201 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs in the first innings.

Star Indian batter and current T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav smashed a blistering century in the third and last T20I of the three-match series against India. He scored 100 runs off just 56 balls, hitting 7 fours and 8 sixes in his swashbuckling knock. SKY’s captaincy knock also helped India to post a big total of 201 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Notably, India and South Africa locked horns in the last fixture of the T20I series at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Thursday, December 14, 2023. The hosts’ skipper Aiden Markam won the toss and asked India to bat first. 

Suryakumar Yadav powers India above 200 in the first innings

Coming back to Suryakumar Yadav’s swashbuckling knock, he came into bat for India at number 4 in the batting lineup and stitched a match-defining partnership of 112 runs for the third wicket with the young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, the latter also scored 60 runs off 41 balls, hitting 6 fours and 3 sixes.

Keshav Maharaj and Lizaad Williams also picked two wickets each for South Africa alongside one wicket each picked by Nandre Burger and Tabraiz Shamsi.

While defending the target, the birthday boy Kuldeep Yadav shone for India as he claimed an amazing five-wicket haul, scalping 5 wickets at the cost of just 17 runs in 2.5 overs with an economy rate of 6.00. Apart from Kuldeep Yadav, star Ravindra Jadeja also claimed two wickets alongside one wicket each bagged by Mukesh Kumar and Arshdeep Singh.

On the back of these bowling heroics, India bundled out South Africa at the score of just 95 runs in 13.5 overs; eventually, India won the match by a margin of 106 runs to equal the series by a margin of 1-1 in the series.

Coming back to Suryakumar Yadav, it was his 4th T20I century for India, equaling the record for veteran India batter and regular skipper Rohit Sharma.
