English middle-order batter Harry Brook has stated that the Indian team, led by Shubman Gill, is a little apprehensive about setting targets for the English team, which has played in the hosts' favour, thereby enhancing their confidence in the ongoing series.

Notably, England currently leads the series at 2-1, with two more games to go after bagging a 22-run narrow victory at Lord’s in London in the third Test. Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Brook spoke about England being confident moving ahead in the series.

“We saw them set a ridiculous total for us at Edgbaston. They were a little bit scared of setting us a total that we could potentially get. So that played into our favour and gave us a lot of confidence as well, going into other games going forward,” Harry Brook said in the pre-match press conference.

Furthermore, Brook also talked about England’s exceptional successful chase at Headingly in Leeds to take the side to a 1-0 lead in the opening Test. Notably, England chased down 371 runs on Day 5 of the Leeds Test.

“Chasing that total at Headingley was an unbelievable win as well. And then obviously last time, the fight and determination we showed to get that last wicket, and the skills and patience that Stokes showed as well throughout that period where we couldn't quite find a wicket, it was awesome to watch. I'm sure it kept everybody on the edge of their seat,” he added.

It's important to note that Brook is the second-leading run-scorer for England in the ongoing five-match Test series, amassing 314 runs from six innings at an average of 52.33. He is behind Jamie Smith (415) in the run-scoring tally for England.

India will take on England in the fourth Test at Old Trafford in Manchester, starting on Wednesday, July 23.
