The veteran Australia pacer Mitchell Starc made it to the headlines of both mainstream and social media after he became the most expensive player in the entire history of Indian Premier. It happened when Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for a mammoth amount of INR 24.75 crore during the IPL 2024 mini-auction.
All cricket experts and fans will wait for him to take the ground in the Indian Premier League 2024.
Meanwhile, Starc, who turned 34 today, also spoke about the former Indian skipper and the modern-day batting great Virat Kohli. Notably, Starc had played in the Indian Premier League 2015 for Royal Challengers Bangalore under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.
"He is such a different person off the field" - Mitchell Starc about Virat Kohli
Starc lauded the Indian batting great for his amazing competitiveness on the field, alongside his demeanour even off the field.
“I do remember fondly the couple of years that I had at the RCB alongside Virat. He was the captain as well. That was the first time I got to know him properly, particularly off the field,” said the Aussie bowling stalwart in a video shared by Star Sports on their official X-handle (formerly Twitter).
“He is such a different person off the field. Such a humble and warm character off the field and then fiercely competitive on it. I remember that the most about him,” he added later.
He broke all the records at the auction table.
