On October 19, India will play Australia in the ODI series. Two of India's top players, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, will make their first appearances in international cricket in eight months on October 19, drawing the attention of cricket fans worldwide to Perth.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are returning to international action after their most recent match in the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand on March 9. Many people are speculating that this will be their final ODI series. Since "Hitman" and "King" retired from T20Is and Tests in 2024 and earlier this year, respectively, an ODI retirement also signifies an international farewell.

The forthcoming India vs. Australia ODI series, according to Australia captain Pat Cummins, may be the final opportunity for domestic fans to witness Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma play in Australia. Ahead of the series, which begins in Perth on October 19, Cummins, who is sidelined due to a back ailment, described the match as "special" for all Australian cricket fans.

Speaking to JioHotstar, Cummins said, “Virat and Rohit have been part of almost every Indian side for the last 15 years, so this might be the last chance for the Australian public to see them playing out here.”

He added that the Indian pair has always brought excitement and energy to the contests between the two sides. “They’ve obviously been champions of the game for India and are always very well supported. Whenever we play them, the crowd gets loud,” Cummins said.

Following a five-match T20 International series starting on October 29, the elite pacer acknowledged his sadness at missing the series, which will also include matches in Adelaide and Sydney.

“It’s a shame to miss the white-ball series against India. I think the crowds are going to be huge. There’s already a lot of excitement built up here in Australia,” Cummins said. “Whenever you miss a game, it’s disappointing. But missing a big series like this is always a bit harder to take.”

"It's three matches you want to win, but it's also about giving exposure to the younger guys coming through, particularly those who weren't part of the last World Cup.” Cummins offered his perspective on the approach Australia should follow under stand-in captain Mitchell Marsh.
