As per the reports, the state government of UP has decided to build a cricket stadium with world-class facilities in a star pacer's village, named Sahaspur, a small village in Amroha.

Team India has been in sensational form in the ODI World Cup 2023. They qualified for the final of the marquee tournament after 12 years. Rohit Sharma's side has won all their 10 matches so far as the team has been in a roll in the competition. Mohammed Shami who has been one of the key members for the success of the team has performed brilliantly in the competition.  

Shami is the highest wicket-taker in the tournament so far. The pacer has picked 23 wickets in just 6 matches. In the last match against New Zealand in the semi-final. He took 7 wickets and was named the Player of the Match. The UP-born pacer came in as the first change and picked two wickets in quick succession. The performance of the bowler has impressed the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. 

As per the reports, the state government of UP has decided to build a cricket stadium with world-class facilities in Mohammed Shami’s village, named Sahaspur, a small village in Amroha. The government wishes to promote sports culture in Amroha and is eager to capitalize on Mohammed Shami's fame.

Mohammed Shami shines bright for India

During a recent visit to Shami's village in Joya Development Block, CEO Ashwani Kumar Mishra and other officials looked into potential sites for the mini-stadium. The officials have given the required instructions, explaining the government's commitment to developing sports facilities in the region. Shami's familial ties to the area provide a personal touch to this development, which delights the residents. 

Shami has 447 wickets in international cricket across formats. The bowler has 54 wickets from just 17 matches and is the highest wicket-taker for India in the history of the mega event and sixth highest overall. India will hope that his amazing display of bowling continues in the final as well. 

The bowler since his return to the side has picked up three fifers and one four-wicket haul in six games he has played. The Men in Blue would love to win the trophy after 12 years at home.
