India’s top cricketers, including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah, came together to laud the Indian Armed Forces and their tireless dedication to protect the nation. At a time when the country continues to navigate complex geopolitical challenges, the messages from these sports icons served as a reminder of the unity and gratitude shared by millions of Indians toward the armed forces.
Virat Kohli, known for his passionate patriotism, was one of the first Indian cricketers to take to social media and laud the Armed Forces of the country. He wrote, “Salute to the real heroes of our country. The bravery, discipline, and sacrifice of our soldiers inspire us every day. We sleep peacefully because of your vigilance. Jai Hind.”
Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah also paid tribute, posting, “We owe our freedom and safety to the relentless efforts of the Indian Army. Your courage on the borders is unmatched. Thank you for everything you do for us.” Bumrah, known for his calm demeanor on the field, echoed the respect many feel for the armed forces off it.
Other Indian cricketers, including Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Ravindra Jadeja, also joined in honoring the soldiers. Rohit Sharma wrote, “Real strength lies in defending the nation. A big thank you to every soldier who puts their life on the line so that we can live ours in peace.” KL Rahul shared a photo of soldiers at the border with a caption that read, “Respect. Pride. Gratitude. Always indebted.”
For the unversed, India, under Operation Sindoor, destroyed nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir earlier this month in response to the barbaric Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 tourists. However, since India’s response, Pakistan’s military has made multiple attacks on the border only for India’s Armed Forces to thwart all their attempts.
