Dhruv Jurel's knock in the first innings of the fourth Test will not go unnoticed, as the young wicketkeeper and batter did his best to keep India in the game despite losing five wickets for a few runs on the board. His knock played a significant role in reducing India's deficit heading into the second innings to less than 100. Jurel's knock was celebrated on social media by everyone, including former India opener Virender Sehwag.

Sehwag, who is known for his aggressive style of batting, doesn’t stop himself from being explosive on social media as he was on the cricket pitch. Jurel was hailed after his good innings, but he also criticised the online tendency in which one player receives more media attention than others. Without mentioning any cricketers in his post on X, Sehwag wrote: "No media hype, no drama, just some outstanding skills and quietly showed great temperament in a very difficult situation. Very well done Dhruv Jurel. Best wishes."

While India supporters were upset by Sehwag's post because they believed he was promoting Dhruv Jurel at the expense of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Akash Deep, the team's three other young players who came from poor families and have suffered problems in their lives. Even Jurel has had his issues, and Sehwag was angry that all of the social media emphasis was shifting away from the wicketkeeper.

A user commented on this tweet: "You can do better. What a pathetic tweet. The least you can do is act like an ex-professional cricketer, and not like a troll, Sir."

Virender Sehwag himself went on to explain that his post seems to convey the wrong message towards the fans. He posted on X: "Not to degrade or demean anyone, but hype should be on performance and be equal. Some guys have bowled brilliantly, some have batted exceptionally but haven’t got the hype they deserve. Akash Deep was outstanding here, Yashasvi has been brilliant through the series and so was Sarfaraz at Rajkot and Dhruv Jurel in all his opportunities. Hype sabko karo."

Coming to the fourth Test match India defeated England by 5 wickets and sealed the series 3-1. Shubman Gill and Jurel were the heroes of the match as both stitched a match-winning partnership. The final match will be played in Dharamsala from  7th March onwards.
