Former Indian skipper and modern-day batting great, Virat Kohli was in the headlines after his sole efforts in the second innings of the first Test against South Africa. He was the only Indian batter who was seen putting his all to survive against the Proteas pace attack. None of the Indian batters except Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli could reach the individual mark of 20+ runs.

Recently, Kohli was also seen hitting a six off the veteran Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. The video of this moment was also shared by a user over X (formerly Twitter). This video has also gone viral over social media as soon as it was shared.

Now, Virat Kohli will be in action for Team India in the upcoming second and last Test of the two-match Test series against South Africa. Notably, he was rested from the ODI and T20I series against South Africa, alongside the regular Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. Apart from that, it is the first Test series for Virat Kohli in Africa since he stepped down as Test skipper of India.

The last time when India toured South Africa under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, they lost the three-match Test series by a margin of 1-2.

Speaking of the ongoing two-match Test series between India and South Africa, the visitors faced a massive defeat by a margin of an innings and 32 runs. Now, India have lost another chance of winning a Test series in South Africa as they haven’t won a single Test series in South Africa since they started touring the Rainbow Nation almost 32 years back in 1992.

Now, Rohit Sharma’s men will take on the Proteas in the second and last of the two-match Test series at the Newlands in Cape Town, starting on Wednesday, January 3 2024.
