WCPL Winners list from 2022 to 2025

The fourth edition of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) concluded on September 18 with the Barbados Royals lifting the title for the third consecutive time. They defeated Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final this time around, and also completed a five-match winning streak in the season. They didn’t lose a single game, beating the Warriors thrice and Trinbago Knight Riders twice.

In the final, the Royals chased down 137 runs in the last-over thriller with three wickets in hand. Shreyanka Patil of India played a massive role in their win with the bat, smashing 10 runs off six balls to take the team over the line. Chamari Athpaththu won the player of the series award for being consistent right through the season.

She scored 194 runs in five matches and also picked up seven wickets to play a crucial role in the Royals’ unbeaten run in WCPL 2025. Notably, the Royals defeated the Warriors in the final for the second time in four seasons.

Aaliyah Alleyne was the star in the final, smashed an unbeaten 17 off just nine balls and also returned with the figures of 1/32 in her four overs.

The first ever edition of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League was played in 2022 and since then, three teams - Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinbago Knight Riders - have been featuring in the competition. The Knight Riders won the inaugural edition of the tournament, beating the Barbados Royals in the summit clash.

Since then, the Royals have won the rest of the three editions and have been the strongest side of the tournament. Guyana Amazon Warriors are the only side not to lift the WCPL trophy so far.
