After a three-match Test series that saw Australia sweep the West Indies 3-0, the two teams will lock horns in five T20Is starting from July 21. The series is crucial for both Australia and the West Indies as the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka is roughly seven months away.
The first two matches in this T20I series will be played at Sabina Park, Kingston in Jamaica and then the caravan will move to Warner Park, Basseterre in St Kitts for the last three matches.
Shai Hope is the captain of the home team, even as the West Indies gear up to bid farewell to one of their most explosive players - Andre Russell. He is set to retire from international cricket after the first two T20I in Jamaica. The all-rounder will be keen to make an impact in the final appearances as the West Indies cricketer.
As for Australia, Mitchell Marsh returns to lead the side in the shortest format. Glenn Maxwell is back to playing international cricket after a long gap while all eyes will be on the likes of Mitchell Owen, and Jake Fraser-McGurk among others.
After going down in Tests, the Caribbean side will be desperate to make a statement in the T20I series.
