On Monday, April 21, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the updated player central contracts for the 2024-25 season. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja are part of Grade A+.

Varun Chakaravarthy, Dhruv Jurel, Shreyas Iyer, Akash Deep, Sarafraz Khan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, and Harshit Rana are the nine cricketers to be included in the central contracts.

Shardul Thakur, Jitesh Sharma, Umran Malik, Yash Dayal, Vidwath Kaverappa, Ravi Ashwin, KS Bharath, Avesh Khan, and Vijaykumar Vyshak are the nine players to be excluded from the updated list.

A+ Grade: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja

A Grade: Md. Siraj, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Md. Shami, Rishabh Pant

B Grade: Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer

C Grade: Rinku Singh, Tilak Verma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Prasidh Krishna, Rajat Patidar, Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, Akash Deep, Varun Chakaravarthy, Harshit Rana, Shivam Dube, Ravi Bishnoi, Washington Sundar, Mukesh Kumar, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh

Speaking about the players' salaries, Grade A+ cricketers will make a total of INR 7 crore while Grade A cricketers will earn INR 5 crore. Moreover, Grade B players will earn INR 3 crore, with Grade C players earning INR 1 crore.

It’s worth noting that the annual player central contracts are applicable from October 1 last year to September 30 this year. Cricketers should play at least three Tests, eight ODIs, and 10 T20Is in a year to be eligible for the central contracts.

Varun Chakaravarthy, who was the star player for India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, earned the contract while Indian off-spinner Ravi Ashwin exited from the updated list following his international retirement.
