Whatever success I have achieved today is due to my parents: Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Rajasthan Royals' young opening batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who created history against Gujarat Titans on Monday, April 28, has credited his parents for the reason behind his achievements and success.

Notably, the 14-year-old batter made his IPL debut in the ongoing season for the Royals. In just his third match of the season, Vaibhav smacked the fastest IPL century by an Indian, taking only 35 balls to achieve the feat at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

“Whatever I am today, I owe it to my parents. My mother used to wake up early because I had to go to practice, and she used to prepare food for me. She would sleep for three hours. My father left his work for me, and my big brother is handling it now. We were struggling. My father has backed me and said I would be able to achieve it. Whatever result is visible today, and the success I have achieved, is due to my parents," Vaibhav said in a video posted by the IPL official X handle. 

Shifting our focus to the details of the match, the Gujarat Titans were tasked to bat first after losing the toss. Thanks to Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, and Jos Buttler, Titans posted a 210-run target for the Royals.

In the chase, Royals opener Vaibhav took only 17 balls to reach his fifty. Later, he took 18 more balls to reach the historic milestone, his maiden IPL century in only 35 balls to score the fastest IPL century by an Indian. He received good support from his partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal, on the other end.

Ultimately, he went on to score 101 runs in 38 before getting dismissed. RR finished off the chase in 15.5 overs with eight wickets in hand, stunning the in-form Gujarat Titans.
