Who is Mohammed Shami’s ex-wife Haseen Jahan

India fast bowler Mohammed Shami recently made a comeback to international cricket after a long gap. He had last played in the ODI World Cup final and was sidelined since then due to an ankle injury. He has been a star player for India in the last few years but his married life has been in doldrums for the last 7-8 years now.

Mohammed Shami’s wife is Haseen Jahan and the couple got married to each other in June 2014. They were blessed with a daughter, Aaira, in July 2015 but things didn’t go to plan for them. For the unversed, Haseen Jahan is a Bengali model and a film actress by profession. She did her schooling at Katwa Bharati Bhaban High School. She completed her graduation from the University of Calcutta.

Coming back to their marriage, the relationship turned sour when Haseen Jahan made the headlines in 2018 calling out Shami for his extra-marital affairs. She also made allegations of domestic violence against Shami and his family members while calling the cricketer match-fixer.

Police complaint was also filed against Mohammed Shami but after a few months of investigation, he was found not guilty and cleared of all the charges. Moreover, BCCI also investigated the match-fixing charges against the cricketer before giving him a clean chit.

In 2018, Mohammed Shami filed for divorce from Haseen Jahan and they eventually got separated in January 2023. The Kolkata court ordered Mohammed Shami to provide his estranged wife Haseen Jahan Rs 1.3 lakh per month in alimony. Of that amount, Shami’s ex-wife will get Rs 50000 in personal alimony while the remaining Rs 80000 will cover their daughter’s upkeep while she stays with her mother.

Meanwhile, Shami is currently featuring in the T20I series against England at home and is gearing up for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. He was India’s best bowler in the ODI World Cup at home in 2023 and will be hoping to replicate similar performances in the upcoming tournament. It remains to be seen if he will be able to sustain bowling 10 overs in consecutive matches.
