The sensational catches taken by star wicketkeeper KL Rahul and amazing fielder Ravindra Jadeja in the game against Bangladesh were two of the perfect examples of this.
The man behind all these amazing results in India’s fielding is none other than their fielding coach T Dilip. He also felicitated the best fielders of Team India with the fielding medals during the dressing room celebration after the end of India’s matches in the ODI World Cup 2023 so far.
With said that, here we’ll have a look at the entire journey of T Dilip from his beginning in cricket as a coach to becoming the fielding coach of Team India at the highest level of the game.
A journey to cherish from Hyderabad to Indian Cricket Board
T Dilip belongs to the city of Hyderabad in Telangana; an Auroras Degree College graduate started his coaching journey in June 2007 when he was appointed as a cricket coach in the Hyderabad Cricket Association for all age groups. He worked closely with the Hyderabad Cricket Association for a period of 11 years and 11 months till April 2019. Subsequently, he got promoted in August 2019 as he was appointed as the fielding coach of India A.
Dilip worked with India A till September 2020 for a period of 1 year and 1 month. Later, he moved to one of the prestigious cricket institutions in India i.e., the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Under the Indian Cricket Board’s banner, Dilip worked in NCA for 1 year and 10 months.
Getting all of his years prized, he was appointed as the fielding coach of the national team of India by the Indian Cricket Board in June 2021; since, then he is bringing all the positive and revolutionary changes in India’s fielding at the highest level of the game.
