The third season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2025) is right around the corner, starting February 14. The second match of the tournament will be played between rivals Mumbai Indians-women (MI-W) and Delhi Capitals women (DC-W) at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
MI-W defeated DC-W in the final of the very first WPL season in 2023, and since then, both clubs have faced each other five times in WPL history, with Mumbai Indians W defeating Delhi Capitals Women three times and Delhi Capitals Women winning once.

2. Shafali Verma
Shafali Verma was dropped from the Indian team for poor form and fitness, and she has been a menace in domestic cricket in recent times. Winner of the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year in 2024 and the ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year in 2024, Amelia Kerr will be playing for the Mumbai Indians in the WPL 2025. She is an excellent all-rounder with amazing leg-spinning capabilities and solid batting prowess down the order.
Kerr has played 17 matches in WPL, scored 364 runs, and taken 22 wickets. She has scored her runs at a strike rate of 130.80. Kerr’s economy with the ball has been 7.57, and her best bowling figures are 4/17.
