Yash Dayal, a pacer for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), has found himself in hot water after being accused of rape. An FIR complaint against Dayal for allegedly raping a female over two years while emotionally blackmailing her has been seen by NDTV. The report was filed at Jaipur's Sanganer Police Station.

It has come to light that Dayal brought her to a hotel in Sitapura, where the initial sexual assault occurred, and enticed her with the prospect of a cricket career. When the first incident occurred, the girl was just 17 years old; thus, the police filed a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.

This comes after Dayal's arrest was recently stayed by the Allahabad High Court about a formal complaint against him for allegedly sexually abusing another woman.

On July 6, the Indirapuram police station in the Ghaziabad district filed the first formal complaint against 27-year-old Dayal, a player for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL, under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) (Sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means, etc.). Dayal has been charged with taking advantage of a woman sexually under the guise of marriage.

According to the petitioner's attorney, a person can only be charged with a crime under Section 69 of the BNS if it can be proven that he makes a vow to marry a woman with no intention of keeping it.

On Dayal's plea contesting the FIR, a bench consisting of Justices Siddhartha Varma and Anil Kumar issued the ruling. The court ordered state counsel to submit a counter-affidavit and stayed his detention while also notifying the complainant to submit her counter-affidavit.

Yash Dayal was booked under the POSCO Act for the latest offense

According to the police, the First Information Report (FIR) in the most recent case was filed on July 23 under the applicable rape sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The jurisdictional police station's station house officer (SHO) claims that the complainant, a 19-year-old aspiring cricket player, first spoke with Dayal two years ago. Dayal allegedly promised to support her in her cricket career, the woman told the police.

“The first incident (of rape) was in 2023, when she was 17. The most recent incident was in April 2025 in Jaipur,” the SHO said.

According to reports, the most recent rape occurred during the Indian Premier League, for which Jaipur also hosted some games.
