Indian opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has opened up on the presence of Indian veteran batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the dressing room, adding that it’s a good opportunity for the young cricketers to learn a lot from them.

Speaking at the ‘Agenda Aaj Tak’ Conclave on Wednesday, December 10, Jaiswal revealed that the young batters in the Indian team have always been keen to learn about the mistakes Kohli and Rohit made in their younger days and how they can avoid making the same.

“When they (RoKo) are there, it is great for us as they discuss the game. They share their experiences. The intensity with which they have played and won games for India, they are like inspiration. They tell us about the mistakes they made in their younger days and how we can avoid making those mistakes,” Jaiswal said at the ‘Agenda Aaj Tak’ Conclave on Wednesday.

Jaiswal, who was recently part of the three-match ODI series against South Africa, replacing Shubman Gill as an opener, went on to score an exceptional century in the series-deciding third ODI as India bagged a 2-1 series win.

In the same conversation, Jaiswal disclosed that he received a lot of advice from the senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma during the third ODI. Also, he revealed that he would love to be a part of the ICC T20 World Cup squad.

“When I was playing the third ODI, Rohit bhai told me to relax and remain calm and take time as he would take risks. How many people will do that? Similarly, Virat paaji gave me small targets and told me that we will have to win it ourselves,” Jaiswal added.

“My dream is to play the T20 World Cup, but I try to focus on my game and will wait for my time,” he said when asked about India’s squad.
