Former Indian opening batter and India Champions star Shikhar Dhawan has opened up on if he would play against Pakistan Champions if they make it to the semi-final in the ongoing World Championship of Legends 2025 (WCL).
It’s important to note that India Champions players pulled out of their contest against Pakistan Champions in the league game as the WCL organizaers had to cancel the game with both sides sharing a point each.
India Champions, led by Yuvraj Singh, are currently occupying the bottom-most position. On the other hand, Pakistan Champions secured two consecutivie wins, strengthening their semi-final chances.
"You're asking this question at the wrong time and place; you shouldn't have asked it. And even if I didn't play earlier, I still won't play now," Dhawan was quoted by Geo News.
At the moment, the Mohammed Hafeez-led Pakistan Champions are leading the points table with three wins and a called-off game in four matches, picking up seven points. On the other hand, India Champions are holding the wooden spoon with two consecutive losses, picking up only point.
Earlier last week, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Irfan, and Yusuf Pathan were the first few players to pull out of the game before the start of the contest. Eventually, WCL had to call off the game.

"After hearing the news that the Pakistan hockey team will be coming to India this year, and seeing the recent India vs Pakistan volleyball match along with a few other fixtures between the two nations in different sports, we thought of continuing with the India vs Pakistan match at WCL, just to create some happy memories for people around the globe.
"But maybe in the process, we ended up hurting the feelings of many and stirring emotions," the WCL statement read.
