Zimbabwe T20I

Zimbabwe’s busy summer continues as they host New Zealand and South Africa in a T20I tri-series starting from July 14. This is a crucial series for all teams with only a few months left for the T20 World Cup scheduled next year in India and Sri Lanka.

A total of seven matches will be played in this tri-series, with the opening game scheduled between hosts Zimbabwe and South Africa on July 14. All teams will face each other twice in the league stage before the top two teams in the points table lock horns in the final, scheduled on July 26 (Saturday).

Hosts Zimbabwe have appointed Sikandar Raza as the captain as they will look to punch above their weight in this series. Players like Raza, Ryan Burl, Blessing Muzarabani among others will be key for them in this tri-series.

Mitchell Santner will continue to lead New Zealand as the Kiwis build the team for the mega event next year. Apart from the regulars, the major focus will be on Bevon Jacobs and Zakary Foulkes who did well in the Super Smash.

Meanwhile, South Africa are playing for the first time since the shock retirement of Heinrich Klaasen. Rubin Hermann and Lhuan-dre Pretorius are the wicketkeepers picked in the squad and it remains to be seen who will impress in this series. Rassie van der Dussen has been named the skipper for this series.
