Cricket Scotland has taken an indirect dig at Pakistan skipper Babar Azam after his recent slip of the tongue. Apparently, in the post-match presentation after the game against the Netherlands, he addressed his opponents as 'Scotland'. “We tried our bench strength. Early on the ball wasn’t coming on well. We were short in the first innings. But credit to the Scotland bowlers who bowled very well,” he said.
The video of it is doing rounds on social media. Now, Cricket Scotland has got the wind of it and decided to pull the legs of the Pakistan skipper. Apparently, they posted the pictures of their 20-20 World Cup game against the Green Brigade played in Sharjah last year. Even though they haven't addressed the Lahore-born player directly, they captioned the Twitter post with the word 'Morning'. It looks pretty clear on whom the post is clearly directed at..

Meanwhile, Babar Azam's men completed a clean sweep against the Netherlands in the three-match ODI series. However, they had a tough time in the last game of the series played on August 21. Batting first, they were all-out for a meager total of 206. It looked like the team might lose to the 14th-ranked ODI team. However, the bowlers saved the day for the visitors with Naseem Shah bagging his maiden ODI fifer.
Now, their next assignment will be against arch-rivals India in the Asia Cup, starting on August 27. Both teams will play each other on the second day of the tournament. They are slotted in Group A with the third and final yet to be determined. Currently, teams such as Singapore, UAE, Hong Kong, and Kuwait are fighting each other in the Asia Cup qualifiers in Oman. Only one team out of these will qualify for the main tournament.
In this case, both India and Pakistan are set to qualify for the Super Four round where they will play each other once again.
