With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 set to begin in February, the Punjab Police (Pakistan) has ramped up extensive security measures to ensure a safe and smooth tournament. According to reports from Geo News, a total of 12,664 police officers have been deployed across key venues, with 7,618 personnel assigned to Lahore and 4,535 officers stationed in Rawalpindi. Additionally, 411 officers from the Special Branch have been allocated to improve security operations.
Aerial monitoring and military deployment for enhanced security
To strengthen surveillance, the security forces will implement aerial monitoring with the assistance of the Pakistan Army and Rangers. This will ensure real-time tracking of any potential threats. The routes leading to the stadiums will be closely monitored using Safe City cameras, which will provide live surveillance to prevent any security incidents.

Joint security efforts with Law Enforcement Agencies
Security arrangements will be a joint effort between the civil armed forces, police, and other law enforcement agencies, working together to safeguard teams, venues, and match officials. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been working closely with the provincial governments of Punjab and Sindh to ensure a smooth security operation.
With international teams set to arrive in Pakistan on February 12, the PCB and law enforcement agencies have taken proactive measures to prevent any disruptions and provide a secure environment for players and fans.
