The first powerplay will now be of 12 overs as against 10 overs which it used to be. This will enable batters to take advantage of an extra 2 overs to utilize field restrictions at the beginning of the innings.

At any given stage between overs 30th and 40th teams can explore their choice of floating powerplay.

2. Fielding Restrictions for balance:

Strict fielding regulations will be implemented during the middle overs phase, which will limit the number of players fielding at the boundary. This will challenge the fielding captains to make the strategies.

These rules will give a chance for batters to find more scoring opportunities during the middle-overs phase.

3. Introduction of Super Over for Group stage matches:

The introduction of Super Over in the group stage will guarantee a winner in every group stage clash.

Fans can now enjoy nail-biting matches very early in the tournament.

4. Bowling Quotas And Substitution:

A bowler is only allowed to bowl 10 overs in a match, a rule that has been present for a long time.

Concussion substitutes are now made compulsory, which ensures players' safety.A trial of strategic substitutes is allowed mid-match depending upon the situation of the game.

5. Advanced Technology and DRS enhance decision-making:

Upgraded ball tracking and ultra-edge technology will make the Decision Review System (DRS) more efficient.

Umpires will also get the advantage of AI-derived tools and real-time analytics.

6. Initiatives on Environmental Sustainability:

Sustainability will be the center of focus of ICC. Minimum usage of single-use plastic items across all the venues will be seen. 

Reusable materials are mandatory in stadium operations with energy-efficient lighting.

Teams need to follow carbon-neutral travel policies.
