The current chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Najam Sethi has come up with a big announcement amidst the speculations of the new PCB chief’s appointment. Sethi has made it clear that he will not be among the candidates for the chairmanship of the Pakistan Cricket Board. Notably, Sethi took over the chairmanship of PCB from the former chief Ramiz Raja.

“Salaam everyone! I don’t want to be a bone of contention between Asif Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif. Such instability and uncertainty are not good for PCB. Under the circumstances, I am not a candidate for the Chairmanship of PCB. Good luck to all stakeholders” tweeted Najam Sethi from his official Twitter handle amidst the discussions and speculations of the new PCB chief appointment.

Subsequently, the cricket fans immediately took this tweet from Najam Sethi as an opportunity to troll him brutally on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

Here’s how fans reacted:

Recently, he also came up with a quite confusing statement to put the governing body of cricket in a blind as the announcement of the schedule of the marquee international tournament is still awaited.

“As far as India and Pakistan go, neither the PCB nor the BCCI can take decisions. The respective governments only can take decisions. It's our government who has to decide, just like when it comes to India, it's their government that decides when they go to play. There is no point asking us if we will play in Ahmedabad,” said Najam Sethi during a press conference on the 16th of June, Friday.

“When the time comes, first it will be decided whether we are going or not, then the government decides where we will go. Our decision will rest on these two important conditions," he added later.

Apart from this, Sethi had also made some astonishing statements regarding Pakistan’s visit to India for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 which is to be played later this year in the month of October and November.
