The veteran Australian pacer Josh Hazelwood came up with a big statement amidst Australia’s hopes of Ashes 2023 looking in trouble due to their position in the fourth Test. The visitors were struggling at the end of the third day of the match as they lost 4 wickets only on the score of 113 runs still trailing by 162 runs in the second innings of the match.

Coming back to Josh Hazelwood, he went on to confess that he would love to see rain at Old Trafford in Manchester. He said that it would be something pleasant if it rains relentlessly for the next two days of the match.

"I'd be very pleased. It's obviously forecast, and forecasts can change all the time (but) rain and light plays a big part in cricket and has done forever. So, it'd be great to lose a few overs here and there and make our job a little easier of hanging in there. It's pretty obvious,” said Hazelwood.

"Obviously we're a long way behind as you can see on the scoreboard, but we're just slowly spending the next two days trying to grab back a little bit of momentum. That (winning) is still the mindset I think of all the time when playing cricket,” he added later.
