The 41st match of the Indian T20 league 2022 saw Delhi beat Kolkata by four wickets. The Shreyas Iyer-led side just can't seem to win a game at the moment. They have now lost their sixth game of this edition. As for Delhi, this win comes as a huge sigh of relief for them. They have now won four out of their first eight games of this edition.

After winning the toss and deciding to field first, Delhi's bowlers were right on the money. They ensured that they didn't give any breathing space to Kolkata's top-order. The two-time champions struggled as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Venkatesh Iyer failed once again.

Baba Indrajith, who was making his debut in the Indian T20 league, was dismissed for just six. Sunil Narine was quick to follow as he perished in the very next ball. Kolkata were struggling to get the quick runs as well. Their skipper Iyer decided to play the role of an anchor. Just when he looked settled, Kuldeep Yadav managed to dismiss him. Thus, Iyer had to depart for a 37-ball 42.

The wrist-spinner was superb as he went on to pick a brilliant four-fer. He continued his good form. After being reduced to 83-6, it looked like the two-time champions would get bundled for a sub-par total. However, Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh put together a crucial 62-run partnership. The 28-year-old got to his half-century as well. This propelled the Kolkata-based franchise to 146-9 in the first innings.

After which, Delhi's Prithvi Shaw was dismissed in the first ball of the second innings. While Mitchell Marsh scored a few eye-pleasing shots, he too was quick to perish. David Warner was dismissed after scoring a 26-ball 42, and made things slightly easier for the Rishabh Pant-led side. It was Umesh Yadav who gave the Kolkata-based franchise a glimmer of hope.

He picked three wickets in his full quota of four overs, and gave just 24 runs. The entire complexion of the game changed as Delhi went from 82-2 to 84-5 in a matter of 10 balls. Yet, the Delhi batters kept their calm, and managed to chase the total with an over to spare. Rovman Powell played a crucial hand as he scored a 16-ball 33. Several fans took to Twitter to speak about the game.
