In what seems to be a major blow for Team India, stat batter Shreyas Iyer has recently complained of back pain during the Ahmedabad Test. He had to go for the scans as the concern has grown for the hosts ahead of the three-match ODI series against Australia.

Earlier, Iyer had to miss a couple of white-ball assignments due to the back injury he suffered. Meanwhile, Indian cricket fans also reacted to the news of Iyer’s injury. They took to Twitter to come up with different opinions and reactions; some of the fans also speculated about the possible replacement of Iyer in the Indian squad.

Here’s how fans reacted:

Speaking of the action of the ongoing match between India and Australia; the hosts have scored 335 runs for the loss of four wickets in 122 overs. Former skipper and batting superstar Virat Kohli and wicketkeeper-batter Kona Srikar Bharat are there in the middle on the individual scores of 73 and 18 runs respectively.

Earlier on the third day of the match, the young Indian batter Shubman Gill scored a brilliant century with 128 runs off 235 balls with 12 boundaries and a six to his name. Other than him, Cheteshwar Pujara and Rohit Sharma also scored 42 and 35 runs respectively. On the fourth day’s morning, star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also scored 28 runs before falling prey to Todd Murphy.

Notably, this ongoing fourth and last of the four-match Test series is very crucial for Rohit Sharma’s men to secure their place in the final of the Test Championship 2023. They are currently leading the series by a margin of 2-1 after three matches of the series.

Australia have already qualified for the final of the Test Championship 2023. Now, the second team of the final will be decided after the completion of the Test series between New Zealand and Sri Lanka.
