Over the years, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers have gone on to form a great bond. As they have played together at the Bangalore-based franchise for several years, both know each other really well. Thus, the Proteas legend recently spoke about Kohli's poor form.

It is to be noted that the Indian batter hasn't really been at his best for quite a while now. He has been below-par in the ongoing Indian T20 league 2022 as well. Kohli has only been able to score 186 runs in 10 innings in this edition so far. This includes two golden ducks as well.

Although he scored a half-century during Bangalore's game against Gujarat, he wasn't at his usual best and consumed a lot of balls to get to his fifty. While addressing the same, De Villiers stated that overcoming a bad patch is indeed challenging. He said that it is difficult to bounce back for a batter going through a lean patch.

“As a batter, you are only one or two bad knocks away from bad form. If it keeps coming at you it is difficult to bounce back from it," said AB de Villiers, as quoted by Hindustan Times. As far as Kohli is concerned, the legendary batter felt that the battle is within his mind. He said that a clear mind is needed to get back to the grove.

“I cannot put a percentage to it but it is the mind and power of the mind which is the main battle. You do not become a bad player overnight. Virat would know it and I know it. I think it’s the way you think and set your mind. You need a clear mind and fresh energy whenever you play and then you can find a way out of a hole,” he added.

Bangalore fans would certainly hope that Kohli gets back his lost form. As they have lost their last three consecutive games, the race to the playoffs has become harder for them. The Faf du Plessis-led side needs to beat Chennai in their upcoming encounter to gain some confidence. A loss over here can make things really difficult for them.
