The star Indian China-man spinner, Kuldeep Yadav shone once again for his team in their second super-4 match against the hosts, Sri Lanka. Just after 24 hours of an amazing five-wicket haul against the arch-rivals, Pakistan, Kuldeep claimed 4 wickets in the all-important clash for India against Sri Lanka. On the back of bowling heroics, the men in blue comfortably qualified for the final of the Asia Cup 2023.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav attracted the eyeballs for his statement after India’s 41-run win against Dasun Shanaka’s men. The 28-year-old credited his teammate and star Indian wicketkeeper-batter, KL Rahul to help in scalping the crucial wicket of Sri Lankan batter Sadeera Samarawickrama.

"KL bhai deserves the credit." - Kuldeep Yadav on Sadeera Samarawickrama's dismissal

Notably, Samarawickrama is one of the finest batters to play against the spin bowlers in the white-ball cricket for Sri Lanka. But he was trapped by the Kuldeep-KL duo in the 18th over of the second innings when the hosts were chasing the target of 214 runs.

“KL bhai deserves the credit for the wicket of Sadeera,” said Kuldeep Yadav in a post-match interview while talking about Sadeera getting stumped out by KL Rahul.

Although KL Rahul was too humble to take the credit; he completely called it Kuldeep’s wicket and recognized himself just as a messenger for India’s star of the night.

“I don't want to take any away credit from Kuldeep. He did the execution, I just passed the message,” said KL Rahul.

Speaking of the action of the match, India managed to post a low-par total of 213 runs at the cost of all the wickets in 49.1 overs while batting first after winning the toss. Skipper Rohit Sharma was the only half-centurion as he scored 53 runs, with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Other than him, middle-order batters, Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul also contributed with 33 and 39 runs, respectively. Dunith Wellalage claimed a five-wicket haul for Sri Lanka to restrict India from a big total.

While defending the target, the entire bowling attack of India completely troubled the Sri Lankan batters; they bundled them only on the score of 172 runs to win the match by 41 runs. Other than Kuldeep’s four-fer, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja also picked two wickets each, alongside one wicket each claimed by Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Siraj.
