All eyes were on the Indian T20 League franchises on 23 December 2022 when they participated in the mini-auction for the next season. On 15 November 2022, all teams submitted their final list of retained and released players list to the Board. So, fans of all respective fans were eagerly waiting to see which players were going to get added to the available squads.

Meanwhile, in the second round of the auction, Cameron Green was one of the names to look out for all teams. This star all-rounder from Australia made headlines recently with his all-around abilities in several games. Even, before the auction, fans were expecting to see him as one of the most expensive players in this auction.

Mumbai franchise bought Cameron Green for 17.50 Crores for the Indian T20 League 2023 

In the three-match T20I series in India, he became the highest scorer with 118 runs. Cameron Green scored those runs at an average of 39.33 but with a staggering strike rate of 214.54. In the last match of the series, he scored the fastest fifty against India (19 balls). Green has also shown great ability with the ball for his country. Meanwhile, his base price was INR 2 Crores. As expected, several franchises like Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi got involved in a bidding war for him. 

Finally, Mumbai bought him for a whopping amount of INR 17.50 Crores for the next season. Thus, he became the second most expensive player in the history of this tournament. However, Sam Curran became the most expensive player in the history of this tournament in the same auction. Punjab bought him for INR 18.50 Crores for the Indian T20 League 2023. Speaking of Cameron Green, he has played eight T20Is and scored 139 runs, at an average of 17.37. With the ball, he took five wickets in seven innings. But, Mumbai fans were not happy as they spend such a high amount for this all-rounder.
