After defeating Pakistan and the Netherlands, team India locked horns in Perth against South Africa. Team India were looking to continue their winning momentum. On the other hand, the Proteas were coming off after a big win against Bangladesh. So, fans were waiting for that clash in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022.

Meanwhile, Pakistani fans were also waiting for this clash as they were praying for India’s win over the Proteas. Only that result can keep them alive in the ongoing tournament. Speaking of the match, Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first. For the Men in Blue, both the skipper Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul came out to bat.

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul failed again against the Proteas in the 20-20 World Cup

Speaking about the performance of these batters, both of them have not performed well so far in this ongoing tournament. Rohit Sharma scored 57 runs in two matches while KL Rahul managed only 13 runs in those matches. So, fans were hoping to see a better performance from these batters. Even, before this match, there are rumours of dropping Rahul over Rishabh Pant. But, still, Team India went with KL Rahul in the opening slot. But, again they failed to put smiles on their fans’ faces.

Rohit Sharma got out for 15 runs off 14 balls, including one four and one six. He batted at a strike rate of 107.14. Along with him, KL Rahul also lost his wicket for nine runs off 14 balls, including one six only. Lungi Ngidi took both wickets as he broke the opening stand with ease. After five overs in the match, India were struggling at 26 runs for two wickets. Seeing such a failure from both these players, Indian fans became angry.
