Punjab Kings cannot keep the batsman in the playing XI in every game if he is not scoring runs.

Ajit Agarkar understands that it might be hard to leave a player like Chris Gayle out of the line-up. However, he remains uncertain about how long the team management would persist with him, mainly at the twilight of his career.

Their problem is that Nicholas Pooran is not scoring runs either: Ajit Agarkar

Ajit Agarkar also pointed out that Nicholas Pooran not scoring runs is also a matter of concern for the Punjab Kings. Thus, it's tricky as to how long these two players survive in the playing XI without scoring significantly. The 43-year old conceded that Chris Gayle remains an automatic selection in the playing XI if he is fit and in form. The Mumbai-born former cricketer also reminded that Dawid Malan is also waiting as he hasn't featured in any of the games so far. However, Agarkar believes that KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings have to bat better collectively.
