MS Dhoni has always been that senior member of cricket that spends time with youngsters. Irrespective of the team he represents, he is always seen with the next generation of players after matches. The players who get a chance to play under him always excel. Shardul Thakur, Sam Curran, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Deepak Chahar are great examples of that.

A player from across the border also has shared his experience of meeting MS Dhoni. Shahnawaz Dhani, a budding fast bowler from Pakistan, in an interview revealed that he got the chance to speak with MS Dhoni. When Dhoni traveled with team India in the 20-20 World Cup 2021 as mentor, they two had a chance to speak during India vs Pakistan game.

"It will take a lot of time for me to explain the level of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Meeting him was a dream come true and I can’t forget that moment. His words were quite beneficial as he told me about life, how to live life, respecting the elders. He told that there will be bad and good days in cricket but you have to embrace it and stay dedicated to the game you love the most," Dahani said in an interview with Cricket Pakistan.

The pacer said he idolized New Zealand's Shane Bond growing up. It was he who inspired him to become a fast bowler. Dahani also said that Jofra Archer is the current bowler that he admires and that he would like to meet him someday.

Meanwhile, Dahani is a part of the Multan Sultans team in the Pakistan Super League 2022. The defending champions became the first team to reach the final this year. Dahani has picked 16 wickets in 10 matches for them. He is in contention to become the highest wicket-taker this season.
