Mumbai Women defeated Bangalore in the ongoing Women's T20 League by a huge margin of 9 wickets. Mumbai chased down 156 runs in just 14.3 overs as their batters hammered Bangalore bowlers all around the park. Star batter from West Indies Hayley Matthews looted all the limelight as she scored 77 runs off just 38 balls and handed Bangalore her second defeat in as many games.

Earlier, after winning the Toss, Bangalore Women's skipper Smriti Mandhana opted to bat first. Her decision came back to haunt Bangalore itself as they failed to capitalize on the batting track and got bowled out for 155 in 18.4 overs.

Wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh was the top scorer for Bangalore as she scored 28 runs. Apart from her Captain Smriti, Kanika Ahuja and a couple of other players also got quick starts in the 20s but failed to convert them into a big score.

Before her blistering innings, Matthews shined with the ball too as she took three wickets in the first innings. Matthews who has been in red-hot form with the ball for Mumbai departed dangerous Smriti Mandhana, Richa Ghosh, and Heather Knight. She finished with impressive figures of 3 for 28 in four overs.

156 looked like a competitive total until Mumbai started batting as they started well with the openers adding 45 runs in just five overs. As Yastika Bhatiya departed for a quick 23 off 19 balls, Mumbai never looked back and trashed Bangalore. Matthews, along with Nat Sciver-Brunt, added unbeaten 114 runs for the second wicket and finished the job 33 balls before.

Matthews scored 77 runs off 38 balls while Nat scored 55 off 29 balls to trash the Bangalore women's team. However, fans got disappointed after Bangalore's consecutive defeats in the tournament. Reacting to the same, a Twitter user said, 'E sala dil Namde once again.'
